How can one capture the charisma and vitality that is Midori on paper? Midori is a champion of sex positive action, education, and adventure. Joyously, she practices what she preaches! Raised in a feminist, intellectual, Tokyo household, she holds a degree in psychology from the U.C. Berkeley. Cleo Dubois

Cleo Dubois is a BDSM Educator, a ritualist and an educational film producer. Among her titles are the educational/play BDSM docu-films The Pain Game and Tie Me Up, and The SM Arts Collection.  She is the founder of the Academy of SM Arts. Cleo and others spend time at the Academy teaching bondage and SM to couples, Dominants and switches, both privately and in regularly held weekend long seminars known widely as the EROTIC DOMINANCE INTENSIVES.

Jay Wiseman

Jay Wiseman has over 30 years of BDSM experience. One of the early pioneers of San Francisco’s BDSM scene, he continues to foster the community as an SM author, educator, mentor, workshop leader, expert witness, and activist. He wrote the bestseller SM 101: A Realistic Introduction and founded the publishing company that later became Greenery Press. His book, Jay Wiseman's Erotic Bondage Handbook sets the standard of fundamental knowledge for this practice. His video, Jay Wiseman Teaches Basic Rope Bondage is an excellent resource for beginners and experienced players alike. Jay holds a first-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, is a member of Mensa, and lived in San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury district during the Sixties. A veteran ambulance crewman and recipient of the highest Red Cross commendation for lifesaving action, Jay also teaches classes in basic and advanced emergency medical care for BDSM clubs and other groups. A recent law school graduate, his focus is providing legal support for alternative communities and conflict resolution.

Evil Mommy Tina

Evil Mommy Tina, a Bay Area native, daughter, mother and leatherdyke, has more than 20 years in the lifestyle.  "Out" in every respect of the word, this proud woman was "sashed" as San Francisco's first Dyke Mommy titleholder in 1994.  During her title year she focused on providing "lifestyle education" in order to enlighten students, and to dispel myths associated with alternative loving.  Her presentations to human sexuality departments at California University campuses were well received and her continuing workshops now presented at events nationwide are renowned for their intensity and highly informational message.  She is an active member of Santa Clara County Leather Association (SCCLA), and has served on the Board for several other leather/lifestyle organizations.

Race Bannon

Race Bannon has been active in the scene for more than 30 years. His accomplishments include founder and Director of Kink Aware Professionals, a non-profit service referring kinky folks to professionals sensitive to kink; project leader for The DSM Project, which changed the way psychotherapeutic professionals view kinky sexuality; author of Learning The Ropes: A Basic Guide to Safe and Fun SM Lovemaking, an international bestseller in the genre; founder of Daedalus Publishing Company, the first publisher dedicated to quality non-fiction leather/SM/fetish books; many articles on sexuality; former sex advice columnist; former producer and host of Bound To Talk, the first internet talk show focusing on kinky sex; past Board member of NLA International and member of Chicago Hellfire Club. Race is regularly interviewed by the press, radio, and television as an expert on kinky sexuality and he has spoken to thousands of people at over 300 speaking engagements. Janet Hardy

Janet Hardy (aka Catherine A. Liszt and Lady Green) is the president of Greenery Press Inc. Under her various pen names, she is the author or co-author of ten books on sexuality, polyamory and BDSM, including The Ethical Slut, The New Bottoming Book, Radical Ecstasy and The Compleat Spanker. Janet is a bisexual, polyamorous, gender-flexible SM switch who has shared her lifestyle knowledge at workshops and conferences internationally. Dossie Easton

Dossie Easton, a long time player on the San Francisco S/M scene, is co-author with Janet Hardy of The Ethical Slut--a guide to infinite sexual possibilities, The Bottoming Book, The Topping Book, and When Someone You Love Is Kinky, a book designed to give to outsiders to inform them about our lifestyle. Their most recent book is Radical Ecstasy. Dossie is a licensed psychotherapist working with individuals, couples and more in her private practice.

An active sex radical since 1961, Dossie was a member of the first Board of Directors of San Francisco’s Society of Janus in 1974. In the eighties she founded and ran Hidebound Leatherware, a business for crafting whips and restraints. Currently she makes her home in the mountains north of San Francisco, travels around to teach at conferences all over the world, and spends her nonexistent free time at home declaiming filthy poetry to the vultures.

William A. Henkin, Ph.D..

William A. Henkin, Ph.D. is a licensed psychotherapist in California, and a board certified sex therapist in the United States. As advice columnist for Fresh Men and Growing Pains as well as contributing writer for Spectator, Bill examines the nexus between psychology and human sexuality. He has presented papers, workshops, and discussions for the American Psychological Association, the National Leather Association, the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality (chapter president), the Harry Benjamin International Gender Dysphoria Association (Ethics Committee member), and other groups both large and small. He’s authored or co-authored over a dozen books including Bodywise (with Joseph Heller), The Psychic Healing Book (with Amy Wallace), The Rocky Horror Picture Show Book, and "Consensual Sadomasochism: How to Talk About It & How to Do It Safely (with Sybil Holiday, CHT). Sybil Holiday

Sybil Holiday has been active in San Francisco's Leather Communities since 1981 and gives presentations nationwide on the psychological and spiritual aspects of BDSM. She co-authored the book Consensual Sadomasochism: How To Talk About It & How To Do It Safely, (with William A. Henkin, Ph.D.) and was a professional Domina (M. Cybelle) from 1983 until 2005.

A master hypnotist since 1997 with certifications in advanced clinical hypnotherapy, sex education, and various forms of energy work including Reiki ll and EFT, Sybil is also an ordained and initiated priestess and spiritual counselor. Her clients seek her out for hypnotherapy; sexuality, BDSM & relationship education/counseling; inner family, persona & archetype explorations; phobia, trauma & PTSD issues; and spiritual counseling.

A member of The Society of Janus, The Exiles, and The Society for Scientific Study of Sexuality, Sybil identifies as a femme trainer, sadist and tantrika. Her favorite BDSM activities are Tantric SM & flogging, service, gender & age play, and finding/exploring your edge.

Mollena Williams

Mollena "Mo" Williams has taught classes on Leather Lifestyle issues for many years including "Diplomacy and Tact in BDSM Relationships" and the highly controversial "Taboo Play." She has taught classes (by special invitation) to private Leather Groups in Michigan, Arizona, California and Illinois.

Mollena has appeared on or moderated panel discussions on various topics including "Issues of People of Color in the Leather Community", "Negotiation", and "Submissive Women's Issues." Mo proudly bears the scars from being featured as "Stunt Sub"for countless BDSM workshops and demonstrations. She has studied the fields of interpersonal communications and conflict moderation extensively and her writings have appeared in a variety of newsletters and periodicals.

Born and raised in the concrete canyons of NYC, Mo has also been writing and performing on stage since the age of five. Her one-woman show 69Stories: One Pervert's Tale enjoys 5 incarnations including three full runs in San Francisco between 1997 and 2004. Her theater work has received critical acclaim and been recognized with several awards.

Michael Blue

Kinky from birth, Michael Blue spent the bulk of his formative years in the Midwest. He warmed to the friendly, honest ways of folks in Wisconsin, but chilled upon learning how "different"made those folks rather uncomfortable. In larger cities he saw how "different"could be accepted and ultimately, in San Francisco (his current home), celebrated.

In 1993 he discovered the organized SM scene and realized he'd finally found his tribe. Since then he's traveled the world, meeting fellow kinksters and teaching them about SM and Photography. He's fond of intensity, and plays for connection and self-discovery. His most powerful scenes blend trust and introspection with a playful sense of creativity and joy. He identifies as a switch.

Trained as a commercial photographer, in 1994 he turned his lens to document the spike heeled, leather and latex clad bodies found at fetish events.  From 2001-2005 he produced the Beauty Bound project in collaboration with rope artist Midori. His photography can be viewed at
